Georginio Wijnaldum has expressed his joy in witnessing the fans watch the Netherlands against Latvia on March 26th, 2021. He enjoyed each moment of the game as the fans were doing the same.

Coincidentally, on March 9th, 201, he mentioned that his club (Liverpool) would not suffer from the presence of fans in the stadium. The Netherlands, though, benefitted from the presence of this presence as they beat Latvia by two-nil.

It seems that Georginio Wijnaldum was right in his prediction, and he could not contain his joy as he spoke to the media about it. In an interview on March 28th, 2021, he said, “It is great to have the fans back in the stadium. The game of football is better with them viewing us within the stadium.”

The Netherlands team have won the last two games they played, and they are going strong in the table with Vice-Captain Wijnaldum leading them well. In the last nineteen years, Oranges has played three times in the finals and lost.

Wijnaldum: the right leader for Netherlands?

Georginio Wijnaldum has been a leader for Liverpool ever since he joined from Newcastle United on July 22nd, 2016. He now wishes to use his experience as a captain to help his national side to win the World Cup.

After he took his place in the Netherlands squad, he has recorded twenty-one goals in seventy-two appearances. For a holding midfielder, this is an astonishing record as they generally do not score many goals.

Through his goal contributions, he can give the Netherlands side a competitive advantage that they have lacked in the past seven years. Their disadvantage has been evident in the 2018 World Cup in Russia.

Despite having a young squad with excellent Caliber, The Flying Dutchmen could not qualify for the World Cup. Georginio Wijnaldum was a vital part of that team, but the other player did not meet his capabilities.

In the 2010 World Cup in South Africa, Frank De Boer (current coach) was the assistant to Bert Van Merwijk. They both had an equal part to play in being the runner-up.

This time around, Wijnaldum and Virgil Van Djik are confident that under manager De Boer. Thus they made a difference and won the World Cup for their nation. So, Frank has experience with managing a team in the final of the tournament. Frank has been newly appointed as the coach for Oranges, though with the guidance of Gini, he can adapt quickly as he is doing so now.

Wijnaldum is, therefore, a player who is wanted by a lot of clubs, but his interest lies with Barcelona.

Gini has been a fan of Barcelona for a long time and is keen to work with Ronald Koeman soon. The Dutch manager ironically wishes for Wijnaldum to join his club as well. But, his desire to sign Gini is more substantial as he wants to rebuild the Blaugrana around him.

By bringing in Gini, he hopes to recreate a Barcelona team comprising many Dutch players with high potential. Therefore he will pay the needed cash to buy Gini, and Koeman will do that to make Barcelona see a brighter future.
