Gary Neville urges to see “More brave and courageous” Manchester United

After being held to a goalless draw at Selhurst Park on March 4th, 2021, Gary Neville was disappointed in his old team . The Manchester United icon was shocked to see his former side performing at a below-par level, .

In an interview on March 4th, 2021, he said, “Manchester United have to show more bravery and courage if they have to remain in the top four.”

Subsequently, the Red Devils are in the second position on the league table. Nevertheless, Neville has not seen anything to justify their standing. In an interview, he clarified his reasoning, “United has found themselves in the top-four this season by sheer luck.”

Neville encourages Manchester United to be more brave and courageous

Under the guidance of Sir Alex Ferguson, Gary Neville flourished at Manchester United. Ferguson’s team has many similarities to the current team, of which the biggest one is that both teams had a lot of youngsters playing for them. Consequently, Neville won eight Premier League’s, two Champions Leagues, and three FA cups in his tenure with the Fletchlings.

Neville says Manchester United players lack dedication

Subsequently, the star players on the United roster were ‘nowhere to be found on the pitch. Their performances were dismal.

Bruno Fernandes was picked out for the part that he played in United’s sad performance. The young Portuguese international had rejuvenated the Old Trafford side. Furthermore, he was a focal point in pushing them to second place on the EPL points table.

However, Neville feels that Bruno was not at his best in the last few games that the Red Devils have played. In an interview, he said, “Fernandes was sloppy for the first few minutes of the Crystal Palace game. His performance over the last week has been abysmal.”

According to Neville, Fernandes was not the only player at fault in the draw against Crystal Palace. In an interview, he said,  “Mason Greenwood and Marcus Rashford was afforded many opportunities but did not capitalize on it. But, Gary Cahill stood his ground and dashed the hopes of Greenwood and Rashford.”

Manchester United will play Manchester City on March 7th, 2021. Following which they will face Milan in the Europa League first leg on March 11th, 2021. Therefore, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will face tough couple of days. They will have to work very hard to secure wins against these two sides.
