Gareth Bale was defended by his agent, Jonathan Barnett, who told reporters, “Bale has accumulated enough wealth to last him for a lifetime” while defending his client against Tottenham manager, Jose Mourinho, on February 17th, 2021.
Gareth Bale has become a dwindling figure in the eyes of football fans worldwide. Subsequently, there have been memes that emphasize his golf course skills more than the football field. At one stage, he stood next to Karim Benzema and Cristiano Ronaldo at the top of Santiago Bernabeu, Real Madrid’s home.
Gareth Bale had made the shift to Madrid following a tremendous season at Tottenham Hotspur. After arriving at Los Blancos, Bale scored and assisted a total of hundred and seventy-three in two hundred and fifty-one games.
However, he has struggled after being handed the pink slip at Madrid. Zinedine Zidane, the Real Madrid manager, had targeted Gareth Bale as one of the players he did not see in his future plans for the club.
He returned to Tottenham on September 19th, 2020 via a loan move from Madrid. However, once again, Bale has been dismal at best. His return to Tottenham has turned out to be a nightmare. The lack of game time at Tottenham concerns his agent and in an interview, he said, ” You have to ask Mourinho for more information.”
Moreover, Jose Mourinho has a particular dislike for him.
Gareth Bale criticized by Jose Mourinho over an Instagram post
Jose Mourinho dismissed rumors regarding the Welsh internationals fitness and availability for future games.
Furthermore, he said on February 12th, 2021, “Bale has requested to be left out from the squad. He has asked for a scan due to internal doubts that are lingering in his mind.”
Mourinho’s scrutiny of Bale continued as he further stated, “I have to inject a bit of reality. His (Gareth Bale) post suggested that he was ready for our upcoming fixture, but that is a false statement.”
