Davinson Sanchez is a missing component in Jose Mourinho’s Tottenham team. He has not been missing physically. Though his presence in the North London side is stagnant enough to declare him as MIA (missing in action).

Subsequently, in an interview on March 11th, 2021, Davinson Sanchez said, “The moment I rediscover my form, I will guide Tottenham back to being the best club ever. I will help my manager and support him in whichever way he asks if him. The team will also do the same.”

Moreover, Sanchez is a regular starter for the Portuguese manager. Though, his effect on the Lilywhites this season does not reflect his debut season at Tottenham.

Sanchez says if he plays better, Tottenham will be back to the best

Davinson Sanchez joined Tottenham on August 23rd, 2017, from Ajax. When he joined White Hart Lane, Mauricio Pochettinho took him in and guided him through all the do’s and dont’s of the Premier League. In a short period, the Columbian international adapted to the Premier League and recorded thirty-one appearances. He could not score a goal or contribute an assist, but he made up for it with his defensive tactics and attacking mentality.

However, in the current season, the twenty-three-year-old defender has only appeared in fourteen games. His performance was dismal. So Sanchez’s statement to the media is a boast. Perhaps it is a wish for better form and performances to conclude his season on a high. If he finds his old form, Tottenham would benefit from it greatly and be on their way back to the Premier League’s top four.

Davinson Sanchez continuous struggles could lead to an exit from Tottenham

Sanchez might be replaced by Brighton’s Ben White

Moreover, his current manager Jose Mourinho has used him alongside Belgian international Tobey Alderwield in recent fixtures despite his struggles.

However, should his performance not have any changes in the coming weeks, Mourinho will sell him and replace him with Brighton Hove and Albion’s Ben White.

The Englishman has impressed many of the clubs in the top six. Predicting a move from a rival, the Seagulls have placed an enormous price tag of fifty million pounds on the twenty-three-year-old defender. Tottenham moving for White would grant them a player with great adaptability. The youngster can operate as a midfielder and defender.

Davinson Sanchez is in a fix now as he will not take his foot off the gas. He has only one choice, and that is to perform better on the field. Mourinho will not accept any more mistakes from Sanchez’s side.

Furthermore, Davinson Sanchez will be closely observed by Daniel Levy (Tottenham CEO) and Mourinho. His performance against Dinamo Zagreb on March 12th, 2021, will be crucial in Tottenham making it through to the Quarter Finals of the Europa League.
