The World No.3 Simona Halep’s performance was fantastic in the ongoing Miami Open 2021, but the Romanian withdrew from the tournament because of an injury.
The 29- year-old Halep last participated in the 2021 Australian Open, losing to Serena Williams for 3-6, 3-6 in the quarterfinals. This time, Halep faced Carolina Garcia in her opening match of the tournament at Hard Rock Stadium.

When we will see Simona Halep again on the court?
The Right-handed veteran apologized to the Miami Open officials for her withdrawal from such a prestigious tournament and will return next year to give her all and win the title.

Simona Halep won the French Open title in 2018.
Simon stated in her statement to the organizers, “I’m very sorry I have to pull out of the singles and doubles at the Miami Open, but my injury doesn’t let me play here as I expected. I’m sad that I can’t continue, I wanted to come here to give my best and play many matches but unfortunately, I can’t. Hopefully next year I will be back healthy and better.
“I want to say a huge thank you to the Miami Open organizers and the WTA for all their efforts in staging this great event and for making us feel safe.”

Anastasija Sevastova moved to the next round of Miami Open 2021 after Simona Halep’s withdrawal.
The two-time Grand Slam winner will now go on a break to give time for healing her body. She might make her comeback in the clay court of the French Open, which she won in the 2018 season.
Halep’s opponent in the Round 32 of the Miami Open will move to the Round of 16 without facing her. Therefore, Anastasija Sevastova will either face the youngest French Open champion Iga Swiatek or the Croatian Ana Konjuh in the next round of the tournament.
