Reigning MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo hails Utah Jazz as the “best team in the west”

Utah Jazz cruised to a 129-115 victory at home against the Milwaukee Bucks. Reigning MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo, who plays as a power forward for the Bucks, praised Jazz’s style of gameplay. He even called Utah Jazz the “best team” in the entire western conference. This does not come as a shock due to the fact that Jazz is on top of the table at the conference.

According to Antetokounmpo. Quin Snyder’s side made the game look so “simple”. Antetokounmpo finished with 29 points and 15 rebounds in the match despite being held to only 2 points after the first half.

Giannis Antetokounmpo is all praises for Jazz

Speaking to ESPN after the game, the “greek freak” as he is affectionately called, commented on the free-flowing offense and defense of Utah Jazz. He said, “It just looks fun. Like when I watch them play, it looks fun, it looks easy,” Antetokounmpo said. “It looks simple. For sure, they look like us last year, and man, when you’re at that point and you’re playing with that confidence, you’re hard to beat for sure.”

Antetokounmpo was mesmerised by the style of Utah Jazz’s play

Giannis Antetokounmpo could relate to the type of performances Jazz is putting this season. This is because last season, Milwaukee Bucks were at the same juncture and they too were being considered as a great team. Having four 25-point scorers in one team is no small feat. And that is precisely what Utah Jazz has done this season for the first time in franchise history.

Can Utah Jazz be considered as title contenders?

Utah Jazz has the best record in the NBA this season, with 21 wins and five losses. In their last 18 games, they have won 17 and only lost one! Last season they qualified for the playoffs but were eliminated in the first round by the Denver Nuggets. This time around they want to qualify for the playoffs and go even further.

Donovan Mitchell

Donovan Mitchell is a big contributor towards Utah Jazz’s success this season

Small forward Joe Ingles said, “I don’t think we’re that satisfied just yet,” when asked about the team’s championship hopes. “We don’t want to be the best team in February; we want to be the best team in July. I think now we’re at a point where people are coming at us, and the way we’ve responded to that is very impressive. I think there’s a lot more we can do to continue to get better, but it doesn’t hurt to be in the moment and understand that what we’re doing is pretty cool.” Donovan Mitchell said when asked the same question.

Utah Jazz is the western conference leaders and has a six-game winning streak. However, they have upcoming games against tough opposition, like the Los Angeles Lakers and the Philadelphia 76ers. Any team aiming for the championship title should be able to give their best performance irrespective of the opposing side. Utah Jazz seems set to achieve and attain their ultimate goal.
