
Baltimore Ravens’ star cornerback Jimmy Smith and his family were robbed at gunpoint on Tuesday night. However, they were unharmed, as Ravens said in a statement.
Ravens said, “We are aware of the situation involving Jimmy Smith. We have spoken with Jimmy, and he and his family are safe.”

How did the robbery happen?
According to The Athletic’s Jeff Zrebiec, Jimmy Smith and his family were going from Los Angeles International Airport to their hotel on Tuesday night. The robber started following them from the airport and robbed them at gunpoint. After the incident, Smith notifies the team that the robber did not harm them, and they safely reached the hotel.

Further, spokesman for the L.A. Sheriff’s Department and Los Angeles Police Department said they are not aware of the incident yet and have received no police report. Any Additional facts surrounding the reported incident were immediately unclear. More details may develop later if Ravens or Smith reports to the Los Angeles Police Department.
It was unclear that if the robber specially targeted Jimmy Smith. The occurrence took place 40 miles away from the Airport.
The robbery’s detail is not available to clear details, as Smith did not talk publicly except the Ravens officials. After reaching at hotel, the former Super Bowl champ posted on Facebook that “Just a very scary situation and a reminder that people truly hungry and will do anything in this pandemic.”
The most important thing is that Smith and his family emerged safely from that eerie encounter. Things could have gone all amiss. Hopefully, the responsible person will be identified and apprehended swiftly.
Smith, 32, is a ten-year NFL veteran who has spent his entire career with Baltimore. He was drafted as 27th overall pick in 2011. So far, Smith has started 88 NFL games for Ravens, which also includes five starts last year. Raven is expecting him to join the training session after April.
