Valentino Rossi gave a reaction related to a massive overhaul carried out by the Monster Energy Yamaha team. The latest, Kouichi Tsuji said goodbye to the entire Japanese manufacturer’s crew and mechanics after officially stepping down from his position as head of the Yamaha Racing division.
Tsuji’s position will be replaced by Takahiro Sumi. After Tsuji’s departure, the performance of the M1 motorbike was felt by Rossi and Maverick Vinales was quite good. Moreover, both have undergone motorcycle testing in 2020 and The Doctor and Top Gun feel positive about their mounts next year.
Responding to Tsuji’s departure, Rossi said that Tsuji described that he was actually more suitable for the role of engineering than management. So, the seven-time MotoGP world champion considers the overhaul done by the Tala Fork team to be very appropriate.
“I have a very good relationship with Tsuji because we have been working together for a long time, since 2004. For me, he is a very good engineer, but in the last few years his role is not fantastic for me. So I think this change is good for improve motorbike development, “Rossi said quoted from Crash, Sunday (09/22/2019).
“Different people have come, for me to be very strong at Yamaha and we need them, because in the past few years we have always struggled too much. But now we need time to improve, so we will see in the future whether we can afford to be strong enough to win, “continued Rossi.
Rossi seems to realize that the Yamaha team is in dire need of a change in management. Because, in the last two and a half seasons, the Japanese manufacturer was only able to achieve two wins.
