Fabio Quartararo proves that he deserves to be a challenger to Marc Marquez in the MotoGP event next year. This was proven after the Yamaha SRT racer won the award as the 2019 Rookie of the Year.
The award was obtained after Quartararo finished second during the race at the Japanese Grand Prix, last weekend. The French racer not only won the 2019 Rookie of the Year, but he was also able to nudge Valentino Rossi’s position in the standings after collecting 163 points from 16 races in MotoGP this season.
This result is certainly beyond the expectations of Quartararo considering he is known to be a debutant racer in the elite MotoGP class. In total, the 20-year-old racer has collected six podiums this year.
“In the Malaysian test, we set a goal, to score between 50 and 90 points, and to be a rookie this year. The points count is much higher than I expected. I am very happy for the team because this is our first year, my first year in MotoGP, but also the first year for the team, “Quartararo explained quoted from Fox Sports on Tuesday (10/22/2019).
As a debutant driver, Quartararo’s achievements in the MotoGP arena are quite impressive.
