Pogba Is Ready For Rochdale and Arsenal

Paul Pogba will be playing again when Manchester United host third division club Rochdale in the 2019/2020 English League Cup on Wednesday (9/25/2019) local time

Paul Pogba will play again when Manchester United entertain third division club Rochdale in the last 32 of the English League Cup 2019/2020 at Old Trafford, Wednesday (09/25/2019) local time.

Former Juventus midfielder was not available since out of the France squad at the beginning of September with an ankle injury.

United coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer hopes that Pogba will play at least a few minutes against Rochdale to improve fitness ahead of the meeting against Arsenal in the 2019/2020 Premier League follow-up next Monday.

“He will probably get a few minutes against Rochdale,” Solskjaer told United’s official website. “But we are sure he is ready for Arsenal.”

The return of Pogba is an impetus to perform better after the 0-2 defeat at West Ham headquarters on Sunday (9/22/2019). The French national team midfielder has not played for United since the 1-1 draw at Southampton on 31 August.

Marcus Rashford has a groin injury at the London Stadium and will be unavailable for the match against Rochdale. It is not clear how long Rashford will be out.

While Anthony Martial and Luke Shaw also still could not perform, and Eric Bailly continued his recovery from a serious knee injury.

Mason Greenwood, who missed the match against West Ham at London Stadium due to tonsillitis, is expected to be available against Rochdale.

The 17-year-old, who scored his first senior goal for the club to get a 1-0 win over Astana in the Europa League last week, is the only option for United’s central attack with the absence of Rashford and Martial.
