Marcus Spears believes “Jalen Hurts is ready” to be the Eagles’ starting Quarterback

Jalen Hurts

The Philadelphia Eagles have recently traded their franchise quarterback Carson Wentz to the Indianapolis Colts. This trade leaves a position empty at the Eagles quarterback spot, and Jalen Hurts is emerging as the perfect candidate for this spot.

In the off-season, teams release players who have not performed well and look to sign those who will bolster their squad. However, Philadelphia Eagles have not gone down that path as they look to polish their in-house talent Jalen Hurts as their new star quarterback.

TV analyst Marcus “Swagu” Spears talked about how the Eagles are doing things right regarding their rebuild. He also talked about how Hurts is developing into their starting quarterback, a player they can rely upon.

Marcus Spears talks about the prospect of Jalen Hurts

Spears spoke about the emergence of the 22-year-old into the squad. He said, “I believe Jalen Hurts can be a starter in this league. I believe Jalen Hurts is ready for whatever challenges present themselves in front of him. The bottom line is, the Philadelphia Eagles also have to look out for themselves.”

He continued, “If they think, or if they believe that they can get guys like Trevor Lawrence or Trey Lance, I’m pulling the trigger. Because I want the competition. If you have identified a guy who is leading your team into the future and is better than Jalen Hurts, you take him.

Hurts is a player who has the backing of the franchise owner. Jeffrey Lurie likes him and wants him to be the face of the team going into the future.
