Jay Williams Thinks the Philadelphia Eagles Might “Create a Nightmare Scenario” Bringing Back Nick Foles.

Nick Foles

This NFL offseason this year has been a very active affair. Franchises and team managements have sat down together to plan their strategies for the upcoming season.

The Philadelphia Eagles, a franchise that did not do well in the past year, are looking forward to making amends by signing veteran quarterback Nick Foles.

Owing to their dismal performances in 2020, the Eagles decided to part ways with Carson Wentz. With one quarterback spot vacant, they are on the lookout to find someone who can be the ideal backup to Jalen Hurts. Nick Foles is one name that is doing the rounds for the past week.

Eagles legend Nick Foles led the franchise to its only Super Bowl victory in 2018 over the New England Patriots. Having such a big personality playing behind a relatively young quarterback is something that worries TV analyst Jay Williams. He talks about it in his show.

Williams implores the Philadelphia Eagles to not sign Nick Foles

In his show with Keyshawn Jackson, Jay Williams talked about the prospect of Foles returning to Philly. He said, “I would like to say this to Eagles fans, please don’t do this to yourself. Please don’t make this a nightmare scenario again for your own quarterback. Don’t bring in a guy who is a statue outside your damn stadium. Don’t do that to a young quarterback who has a chance of blossoming into something different.”

He continued, “I’ll tell you what happens next. As soon as Jalen Hurts has one game, Philadelphia Eagles fans will start chanting Foles’ name. You’re creating dissent within your own team. Nick Foles is not going to support Jalen Hurts. People are going to pit them against each other and then take his damn job.”

However, franchise owner Jeffrey Lurie believes Jalen Hurts will lead his side into the future. He has repeatedly pushed his management staff to include Hurts as the permanent quarterback in the side.

All the talk surrounding Nick Foles and Jalen Hurts is adding unwanted pressure on head coach Nick Sirianni. HE is only in his first year of coaching the Philadelphia Eagles.

The new NFL season commences from 9th September in the fall. Super Bowl LVI will be played in the newly constructed SoFi stadium in Inglewood, California. Home to the Los Angeles Rams.
