On Monday, actress Shailene Woodley joined The Tonight Show, starring Jimmy Fallon, confirming that she and Aaron Rodgers, the Green Bay Packers quarterback, are engaged.
A few weeks ago, knowledge of their relationship was just made public. Woodley conveyed, “they were already engaged for a while, and no one is more shocked than she is.”
The 37-year-old Aaron Rodgers listed his dedication and thanked his fiancee on Feb 6 but did not say her name while accepting his third career MVP award.
Woodley says that the couple has been engaged for a while, and it is not new to them, which is news. According to an interview, she was single as recently as April of 2020, so this seems like it must have been a whirlwind romance. During the second half of 2020, the couple allegedly got married.
Woodley conveyed, “He is just an amazing, unbelievable human being, first of all, but I never thought I would be engaged to someone who throws balls for a living. Like, as a little girl, I never thought I was like, ‘Oh, I’m going to marry someone when I grow up who throws balls! Huh! Okay!’ But he is just so good at it.”
Although Woodley knows enough to know that Rodgers is an excellent QB, admittedly, her knowledge of football is lacking. She is eager to learn, though.
Woodley conveyed, “I always wanted to see a football match. I had never seen a football game until before I met him. I did not grow up with sports, especially American sports. It’s never even been on my radar. I knew he was a football guy when we met, but I didn’t know what kind of football guy he was, and I’m still learning constantly.”
The reaction of Aaron Rodgers wife on the engagement
Woodley is more aware of Rodgers as the guy who is excited about guest hosting Jeopardy! The three-time MVP of the NFL.
Woodly conveyed, “As a football boy, I do not know him. I know him as the nerd who wants to host Jeopardy! Do you know? That is the person I know. He happens to be good at sports as well.”
She conveyed, “I only wanted to go to one of his games and had never been a major fan of sports. After she gets a taste of what life is like in Green Bay, we can see if that changes.”
On Monday, Woodley was talking to Fallon to promote her film, The Mauritanian. Her past credits include Big Little Lies, The Fault In Our Stars, and Divergent, the HBO series.
Woodly conveyed, “Yes, we are engaged. He and I are engaged. But for us, it is not new news, you know, so it is funny. Everybody right now is freaking out over it, and we are like, ‘Yeah, we have been engaged for a while.”
The 29-year-old Woodley said she still didn’t attend one of the Rodgers games, remembering the limitations on attendance caused by the pandemic last season. Woodley added that before meeting Rodgers, she had never even watched a football game.
As a celebrity guest host for the long-running game show, Rodgers was revealed last month. Long-standing Jeopardy! On Nov 8, host Alex Trebek died of cancer. The guest-hosting stint for Rodgers starts on Apr 5.
