“Mason is a fantastic talent” Ole Gunnar Solskjaer praises Mason Greenwood after signing a new contract until 2025

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is a manager with splendid vision, and many others praise him for it. In an interview on February 16th 2021, he praised Mason Greenwood by saying, “Mason Greenwood is a fantastic talent. He is a prime example of the quality that a  player graduating from the academy at Man United should possess.”

The young Englishman’s performance for the Red Devils earned him a long-term contract. He put pen to paper and made it official on February 16th, 2021 at the Manchester United field office in Manchester, United Kingdom. It is a four-year deal, with the contract ending in 2025.

Mason Greenwood’s performance prompted Ole to challenge the academy players at Manchester United to reach the same level.

Solskjaer joined the red devils as an interim manager after the departure of Jose Mourinho on December 19th, 2018. In the 2018-19 Premier League season, he led them to eleven consecutive victories.

The tactics he had used awarded him a permanent role at Manchester United on 28th March 2019. As a result Manchester United were back to the soaring heights that they were frequently in during the Alex Ferguson era.

Solskjaer has seen some interesting prospects at the Academy who he feels have the caliber to crack the Man United first team

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has an affinity for youngsters, attributing to his years as a young star for Manchester United.  The Manchester Evening News reporting him as saying,  “The prospects this year at the Manchester United academy interests him.”

After the COVID pandemic, a lot of youth academies had closed down. Regarding this issue, Ole said, “The entire nation is happy with the prospect of having youth academies reopened. This restart delights me.”
