New Orleans Saints to face a major discipline for Covid-19 violation over the victory celebration against Tampa Bay

New Orleans Saints head coach Sean Payton

Following their post-game celebration over the win against Tampa Bay Buccaneers in last week’s NFL game, New Orleans Saints posted a celebration video on social media, where multiple team members were not wearing masks. However, they posted the video on the team’s Twitter account, which then comes to NFL’s disciplinary committee’s eye, and Saints are reportedly facing a major discipline for violating NFL’s COVID-19 protocols.

The posted video shows that the head coach Sean Payton and Saints players celebrating and dancing the 38-3 victory against Tampa.

What actions are New Orleans Saints facing?

Earlier this month, the Raiders faced fines and loss of a draft pick due to the same kind of violation as the Saints. So, they are going to face the same kind of fines and charges, which could be $500,000 fines for the team, and the head coach may have a chance to get fined around $150,000. According to the source, the league is taking some hard steps so that it can be an example for other teams as the COVID-19 outbreak on the rise again in the past few days.

On the other hand, the Saints legal team is trying to negotiate the matter with the NFL’s disciplinary committee; however, there will be a little chance to get over the violation.

What should Saints do now over the discipline for Covid-19 violation?

Saints have nothing to do anything except playing well with all the protocols in the next game against the 49ers. Besides, whatever the job is the legal team doing, they should do that technically and negotiate properly to reduce the fines or actions.

Saints had numerous grievance in the last few years, though those are not as controversial as the last weeks. It is pretty assumable that they don’t care about fines as well as losing a draft pick because they have got a high performing rooster right now.
