‘What’s Inside Stays Inside’ Luka Doncic Clash With Reporter for Wanting Insight on Mavs’ Defense on DeRozan’s Clutch Time Game-Winner

Luka Doncic and the Dallas Mavericks came close to winning the game against the San Antonio Spurs. However, they were stopped short by a brilliant buzzer-beater from DeMar DeRozan. It was arguably one of the most important shots he made in his entire Spurs career.

The game was a tense affair for all four quarters as both teams looked to ace the match. After 48 minutes of tremendous back and forth between the two sides, the Spurs emerged as the victors. Further, in the post-game press conference, Doncic let his emotions get the better of him in an altercation with a reporter.

Doncic was asked whether coach Rick Carlisle and he had a discussion regarding a double-team on DeRozan. The Slovenian remarked, “He made a hell of a shot. There was good defending, still, he made a hell of a shot. Props to him for that. What’s inside stays inside. We don’t need to put it out there in the media.”

It was an all-round performance on all counts from the Dallas Mavericks. However, excessive fouling and frailties in defense ultimately became the reason for their losses. Luka Doncic and Kristaps Porzingis continued their good partnership as they both were the top scorers for their side.

Further, Porzingis finished the game with 31 points to his name. He also racked up 15 rebounds during the course of the game. Apart from him, Doncic scored 29 points and seven assists for the Mavericks in this game.

“We’re a team that’s still learning some lessons about keeping our guard up, navigating through a very busy schedule,” Dallas coach Rick Carlisle said. “It’s not an excuse. It’s just a fact. We’ve come a long way.”

The Dallas Mavericks are seventh in the Western Conference standings. At the moment, they are well in contention for the playoff spots and will look forward to improving their performances from now until the end of the season.
