Watch: Jamal Murray cries out in agony, grabbing his left knee post non-contact injury against warriors

Jamal Murray #27 of the Denver Nuggets reacts as time expires and the Nuggets win

Jamal Murray just returned to the roster against Golden State Warriors after missing four games due to a sore right knee. But at the end of the game, Murray appeared to suffer a much more serious non-contact left knee injury.

The injury occurred on a drive with less than a minute left in the game. Nuggets tailed by seven points, and Murray was on his way to attack the basket. But as soon as Jamal tried to jump off his leg, he creased on the ground, which looked to be in serious pain.

Murray stayed on the floor for several minutes before he was helped up to his feet. However, the Nuggets star rejected a wheelchair and limped off of the floor. According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, “Nuggets are working on getting Murray an MRI after the game.”

Possible injury type Jamal Murray faced

The injured video clearly shows that Murray’s knee has slipped out of the socket. This can indicate either torn ligaments or injured in the joint bone of the knee.

There has been a noticeable dip in the upper front knee area, which may specify that his femur slipped backward. Previously he faced injury on his right leg, which looked okay today.

Nuggets coach Michael Malone reacted to Jamal Murray’s recent injury and conveyed that Murray was worried and sad in the locker room. Further, Malone is yet to get any updates on the injury, and the team is waiting for the MRI report.

The coach looked really worried about Jamal as they have another game tomorrow. And without the star point guard, they appear to lose confidence. “We just need him back, keep him in your thoughts and prayers, and hopefully, we will get some good news,” Malone stated.

Murray played 33 minutes last night and scored 17 points with four rebounds and four assists. Injury has rarely not been an issue throughout Murray’s career until the 2020-2 season.
