Warriors Coach Steve Kerr Gets Into Heated Clash With Ref, Gets Technical Foul for His Misbehavior

Steve Kerr

The Golden State Warriors slumped to a demoralizing loss against the Dallas Mavericks on Tuesday night. The Warriors were no match for the brilliance of Luka Doncic as the Mavs continued their crusade. However, this game was marred by a rare outburst from coach Steve Kerr as he received a technical foul for excessive argument.

Steve Kerr is one of the calmer coaches in the league. He prefers to do all the work with his team behind the scenes and then watch it all unfold on the court. However, his rare outburst shows that things have not been going according to the plan of late.

The reason for Steve Kerr receiving a technical was that he stepped onto the court while protesting a no-call. According to him, Dorian Finney-Smith double-dribbled the ball before passing it to Kleber. Three officiators did not spot this, hence they counted the shot.

Nonetheless, the fact that the Warriors were the second-best side all game remains. They could not deal with the threat of the Mavericks offense and lacked drive and motivation when it was their turn. Stephen Curry continued on his hot streak of points. However, his performance was not enough to secure the victory.

For the Mavericks, Luka Doncic was the star of the show as he finished with 39 points to his name. Moreover, he racked up eight assists and six rebounds during the game. Apart from him, Stephen Curry was the top scorer for the Dubs. He scored 27 points along with 2 rebounds and an assist for his side.

“I’m not concerned about the scoring drought, I’m concerned about defense, I’m concerned about a level of intensity and preparation and competitiveness,” Kerr said. “That’s what was missing. I’m the head coach. I did not have them ready to play, clearly.”

The Golden State Warriors are 10th in the Western Conference standings. At the moment, they are not in contention for the playoffs. Moreover, slipping down one spot in the standings does not bode well for their playoff hopes especially when it is near the end of the regular season.
