Russell Westbrook

Russell Westbrook and the Washington Wizards are finally on a decent winning streak. The Wizards have won five straight games and it appears their hopes of making it to the playoffs are still alive.

Although they are still 13th in the East, they registered a victory against the Los Angeles Lakers. Lakers, who were expected to win the game with not much trouble were defeated by the duo of Westbrook and Beal.

While Russ had a mediocre game until the regulation time. He picked up the slack when it mattered the most, in overtime. Thanks to Russ’ clutch plays his team was able to win the game and break the hearts of Lakers fans.

The purple and gold are struggling to keep their form since the unfortunate injury to Anthony Davis. Tonight, they almost got the job done, but they were stopped on their tracks by the Wizards’ dynamic duo. Lakers’ guard Alex Caruso talked by the two in the post-game conference. He said:

They’re a good one-two punch of playing off of each other, whoever wants to be the one at any given time. Brad can stretch the floor and get to his spots and shoot over you. And then Russ is a downhill with a head of steam trying to find guys and finish at the rim. So it’s a good tandem and then they have got some shooters around them with good bigs.

It’s a really good setup for them. They have been gotten hot lately. They’r’e playing well, but I am a little disappointed we didn’t finish the game.”
