“Take it One Step at a Time” Brooklyn Nets Head Coach Steve Nash Reveals How he has Improved This Season

Steve Nash of the Brooklyn Nets

This season, the Brooklyn Nets have done a great job in assembling a team. However, the only place that fans doubted them was the head coaching position. They gave first-time head coach Steve Nash a job to handle a super team.

While Nash was a great player, he was untested as a head coach. On top of that, managing a super team is something that even the most experienced coaches might fail to do. But the Brooklyn Nets placed their trust in Nash and so far he has done a great job.

The biggest aspect of coaching multiple superstars is to stop their egos from clashing. Moreover, with players like Kyrie Irving and James Harden, the job only got tougher for Steve Nash. However, with the first half of the season over, the Nets are second in the Eastern Conference.

They look in terrific touch and are the favorites to make it out of the East. While the players deserve applause, Nash should also get his much deserved credit.

With the second half of the season beginning soon, Nash talked about what he has learned so far being a first-time coach. According to a report by ClutchPoints, Steve Nash said:

It’s a natural progression to gain comfort on the sideline, comfort in practice, comfort in film sessions. It’s not just coaching. There’s a lot of other stuff that goes into being a coach; that’s something that takes time to adapt to.”

Nash further continued, ““I don’t say, ‘Man, I’m a way better coach than I was 10 days ago.’ I’m gaining comfort, I’m learning, I’m getting to know my team and our challenges. … [The players] deserve the credit. … But I don’t like to sit here and say, ‘Oh yeah, I’m just coaching the heck out of my team. I’m balling over here.’ Take it one step at a time.”
