Steve Kerr Compares Kobe Bryant and Michael Jordan’s Shooting Stretches With Steph Curry’s Lofty Scoring Standards

Stephen Curry was compared to Kobe Bryant by Steve Kerr

It was an intense affair when the Golden State Warriors faced off against the Philadelphia 76ers on Monday. The difference between the two sides at the end was just one name – Stephen Curry. He showed with this performance that he is no less than MJ or Kobe Bryant when it comes to delivering match-winning performances in crunch situations.

Right from the first quarter, Curry started with all guns blazing. He used this fast start to full effect as he went on to sink 10 shots from behind the arc. For the spectators, it was poetry in motion when he launched his shots from way downtown.

In the post-game press conference, Warriors coach Steve Kerr waxed lyrical about his star man, comparing him to some of the greats of the game.

He said, “It is just utter amazement at this guy’s skill level, heart, mind, and focus. He is a treat to watch. I’ve never seen this kind of performance from anyone from a shooting standpoint.”

He continued, “I’ve seen Kobe Bryant, early in his career he had a stretch where he went nuts. Obviously, Michael Jordan had some stretches where he just scored like crazy. However, nobody’s ever shot the ball like this in the history of the game. Even by Steph’s own lofty standards, this is above and beyond.”

Stephen Curry finished the game with 49 points over the course of four quarters. It was truly a joy to watch him take to the court and find spaces to shoot. Apart from him, Andrew Wiggins was a big contributor towards the victory. He scored 16 points and also racked up 10 rebounds in the match.
