The Brooklyn Nets front office proved today that they value their young talents. The 24-year-old Alize Johnson signed a new deal with the Nets that will see him getting paid $4.1 million. He is a part of the current crop of young players who are yet to make their name in the league.
NBA insider Adrian Wojnarowski reported that the Nets and Johnson have agreed to a multi-year deal. He also reported that the power forward was offered more lucrative contracts by other franchises. However, he chose to stay here and develop into a better player.

Johnson has made appearances for the Nets in the past. However, he has been present on the court only for short phases of time. He has averaged 8.6 points and 6.6 boards on 65.6 percent shooting over five games, bringing grit and energy on both ends.
Coach Steve Nash has used him as an impact player in recent games. He has done so by contributing to the team’s offense and defense. Johnson has also paired well with the stalwarts like Harden and KD.
Endless opportunities for Alize Johnson
With a new deal in place, Johnson can focus on polishing his skills and contributing to the team. Under the guidance of Steve Nash, he has thrived and has added to the squad depth of the Nets.

Another factor that might have played a part in Johnson deciding to stay with the Nets is the presence of NBA veterans. Players like Kyrie Irving, Kevin Durant, and LaMarcus Aldridge will all be in close proximity to him and he can learn the ropes of how to achieve greatness from the best in the business.
This contract guarantees that Alize Johnson will stay in Brooklyn for years to come. He is one of the players that can play an influential role when the eventual franchise rebuild takes place. The Nets management has shown that they trust his skills and Johnson will try his best to prove them right.
