Montrezl Harrell “Feels Good To Get Back in the Winning Column” Without LeBron and Anthony Davis

The Los Angeles Lakers won against the Cleveland Cavaliers 100-86 on Friday night. The Lakers were severely short-handed as their star players, LeBron James and Anthony Davis were out with injuries. However, the side made a sterling effort to annihilate the Cavs in this match.

Montrezl Harrell and Dennis Schroder were the stars of this game. With the veterans sitting out, the responsibility fell on them to take their team home. This performance was by no means a sublime one from the Lakers. However, it still delivered them a win.

In the post-game conference, Montrezl Harrell was asked about what the team was trying to do in the absence of LeBron and AD. He said, “We’re not just looking to hold on or just try to keep our head above water without those guys. We’re trying to compete and win games. … It just feels good to get back in the winning column tonight.”

The Los Angeles Lakers were quick of the blocks in this game but soon lost steam. In fact, they were seven points behind the Cavs going into halftime. However, a good burst of energy from Dennis Schroder early in the second half resulted in the side getting back in its groove and finish the game in their favor.

Montrezl Harrell came off the bench and finished the game with 24 points. He also racked up eight rebounds to his name. “Trezz” kept his hot-streak going with his eighth double-double of the season. Schroder scored 17 points and got seven assists during the course of this game.

“I don’t think we felt tension. We were more disappointed about falling behind early,” said Harrell, “We have to play next man up. We can’t look forward to 2/3 weeks or whenever they come back.

The Los Angeles Lakers are fourth in the Western Conference standings. At the moment, they are in contention for the playoffs. Moreover, they have broken their four-game losing streak so the tide is in their favor.
