Matt Barnes Believes Nets’ Kevin Durant, James Harden, and Kyrie Irving “Might be Better” Than Curry, Thompson and Durant’s Trio

Irving, Harden, and Durant

The Brooklyn Nets are one of the favorites to lift the NBA trophy this season. Thanks to the blockbuster James Harden trade, they have unarguably the best offensive lineup in the league. Their three superstars can be nightmares for opposing defense on any given night.

However, the team’s lackluster defense has been a huge flaw in their game. They are slowly improving, but can they figure this out before the playoffs? If they can they might finally deliver the city of Brooklyn a championship.

However, that’s something far in the future and we can only speculate at this moment. While we can never be sure about how a team might perform in the playoffs, former NBA player Matt Barnes is pretty confident in the Brooklyn Nets.

In a radio interview, Matt Barnes made some pretty bold claims. He believes that this Nets team has the ability to even surpass the Golden State Warriors dynasty. Barnes stated:

This trio (KD, Kyrie, Harden) might be a better scoring trio than those guys (Steph, Klay, KD) and that’s saying a lot. This could be the best scoring trio we’ve ever seen in the game… They’ve been the number one offense since James jumped in there.”

However, there is one thing that the team needs to improve before they can ever reach that level. Barnes talked about their defense and said:

They’re starting to understand how the defense is. They hear people talking about how bad their defense is. They see their defensive numbers and they realize defense is nothing more than effort, and energy, and being on the same page.”
