Two-time All-Star center Andre Drummond signed with Los Angeles Lakers after clearing waivers from Cleveland Cavaliers. Kentavious Caldwell-Pope seems happy to find his old teammate with him again. Caldwell-Pope played three years with Andre Drummond at Detroit Pistons.

Drummond made his debut with Los Angeles Lakers on Wednesday. However, he could not play after the first half as he was ruled out due to a right big toe contusion. The 27-year-old will miss the next few games.

In a post-game interview, KCP discussed his chemistry with Drummond. Since they played briefly on Wednesday, he did not find any on-court chemistry Drummond yet. “On-court chemistry is you know it’s not there yet you know we haven’t unquote on chemistry is you know really like the one game we did play you know we didn’t really get acquainted,” KCPconveyed.

Previously KCP and Drummond played three seasons in the same team from 2013 to 2017. While they played at Detroit Pistons, they had great on-court chemistry. And both players led the team many times to sneak out some wins.

How did Andre Drummond get injured?

Drummond had a great start and scored four points during the 14 minutes he played before leaving the court. His big toenail was completely ripped off when Bucks center Brook Lopez stepped on Drummond’s foot.

However, Drummond did not care about the injury until halftime. When he checked the nail, he found it completely gone and left the court promptly. “Well I lost a toenail but still felt incredible wearing the purple and gold!! Be back soon,” Drummond twitted.

Later he was rushed to the medical team. Although the X-rays came negative, the doctor suggested him to stay out of the court, to avoid infection of the bruises.

Andre Drummond’s injury is not that serious. Therefore, the Lakers are optimistic about his return after a game or two. Nevertheless, Drummond’s absence will likely put Marc Gasol back in the starting lineup until Drummond return on April 9 against Miami Heat.
