Last season, the Golden State Warriors were statistically the worst team in the NBA. However, their head coach Steve Kerr recently revealed that he enjoyed coaching that team. In fact, he mentioned he enjoyed it coaching more than the 2018-19 team when the Dubs went to the finals.
While this might seem a normal quote, a media member blew this out of proportion and connected it to Kerr taking a dig at Kevin Durant. Once this news reached Kerr, he was pretty furious about how the media completely mistook the context of the quote.
In a recent interview, Kerr expressed his views on this and said:
“I want to make this extremely clear, if you want to actually get the story accurate, I encourage you to listen to the podcast, before we take this story into the offshoots and use that as my quote.”

As Kerr mentioned, the media member completely misjudged the context of his quote. This could have led to creating a rift between Kerr and Durant in the future. But with Steve establishing his point absolutely clear, that altercation is avoided.
Can Steve Kerr help the Warriors win the NBA Championship this season?
While Kerr might have enjoyed coaching the last year’s Warriors, filling the huge void left by KD is still a work in progress. Furthermore, the Dubs are not at their 100% strength with Klay Thompson sidelined for the entire 2020-21 season.

Despite all the odds stacked against them, Stephen Curry has been carrying the franchise on his back. The 2-time NBA MVP is making a case for himself to bag another MVP award thanks to his insane form.
Regardless of that, GSW is still out of the playoff race. Their 22-21 record is only good for the ninth seed in the West as of now. Do you think Steve Kerr can come with a unique strategy to turn the table around for his players? Let us know your views in the comments section below.
