LeBron James Takes a Dig at the Bar Owner Who Demanded His Expulsion From the NBA

LeBron James

The stature LeBron James holds in the world of basketball is unmatched. His legacy speaks for itself when he lends his voice to certain issues. Even if he speaks on matters off the court, his opinion is paid heed to and given proper attention.

Recently, LeBron James spoke out on the rising numbers of police brutality cases in the country. They widely acclaimed his view all over the social media diaspora. However, Jay Linneman, owner of Linnie’s pub in Ohio, was not a fan of what LBJ said.

James’ opinion irked Linneman to such an extent that he has stopped showing NBA games in his pub. In a statement he released on Facebook, he said, “If anyone wants to watch an NBA game, don’t come to Linnie’s Pub. We will not air them until LeBron James has been expelled from the NBA.”

The news gained traction on social media and ultimately reached King James. He took a hilarious dig at the Pub owner, saying, “Aww Damn! I was headed there to watch our game tonight and have a drink! Welp.”

Judging by the comments he made on Facebook, Linneman is of the opinion that basketball players, irrespective of their status in society, should not focus on matters plaguing the country. Instead, they should all focus on playing the game.

Linneman essentially echoed the sentiments of former President Donald Trump, who issued a tweet directed at LeBron James. He said, “LeBron James should focus on basketball rather than presiding over the destruction of the NBA, which has just recorded the lowest television RATINGS, by far, in the long and distinguished history of the League. His RACIST rants are divisive, nasty, insulting, and demeaning. He may be a great basketball player, but he is doing nothing to bring our Country together!”

The 36-year-old handled the situation beautifully by posting a hilarious take on it. He prevented the matter from escalating any further. People who have gained public acclaim should express their thoughts if they strongly believe in them. They hold the capability to influence people and lead the country towards a better future.
