Kevin Durant Picks LeBron as ‘Point Guard’, From History of NBA Players for his Dream Team

Kevin Durant

Brooklyn Nets’ superstar Kevin Durant is arguably one of the best players in the decade. He is probably an all-time talent, but in his pursuit of greatness, Durant has faced one player several times, LeBron James.

‘King James’ and Durant share one of the biggest rivalries on the court. Every time both great players face off against each other, it becomes an absolute spectacle for the basketball world. But both these superstars have immense respect for one another.

This was apparent when KD made a recent appearance at the Million Dollaz Worth of Game podcast. There the 32-year-old chose his all-time team. While choosing the starting five of his team, the first name Durant took was that of LeBron James.

KD said, “At my point guard, I’m gonna keep LeBron as my point. ” The other players Durant mentioned to round-out his starting five were Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant, himself and Hakeem OIajuwan. That starting five surely is filled with multiple talented players and could defeat any team they are pitted against.

The LeBron James and Kevin Durant rivalry

The KD and Bron on-court rivalry has been on for quite some time now. All of it started when Durant along with Russell Westbrook and James Harden faced off against the big three of the Heat led by LeBron in the 2012 NBA Finals. Bron and Co. absolutely dominated the young Thunder side and won the chip in 2012.

But the next time around it was a different story altogether. Joining the record-winning Warriors team, KD had formed a super team with Steph Curry and Klay Thompson. The loaded Dubs were too much to handle for James and the Cavs, and KD even won the Finals MVP trophy.

2018 was even worse for LBJ, as he dragged a rather mediocre Cavs side to the Finals. Durant showed no mercy though as he absolutely obliterated James and Co. and won his second Finals MVP. While they haven’t made it for the fourth time in the Finals as of now, fans can’t wait to see the next chapter in this intense rivalry.

This time there is a real possibility we might end up with just that. The Nets are absolutely dominating the East and are favorites to reach the finals. The Lakers meanwhile are returning to health, and once AD and Bron are back, the champions can be a problem for the rest of the league. Who do you think will prevail in a finals matchup LeBron James or Kevin Durant? Let us know in the comments down below.
