Joel Embiid Not Satisfied After Close Win Against Paul George’s Clippers, States “I Gotta Do Better Job”

The Philadelphia 76ers trudged along to yet another close victory to cement their position as strong title challengers. Joel Embiid and Ben Simmons provided the fireworks in this victory as they closed out the LA Clippers.

The 76ers emerged as the victors in a game where the narrative was that the game will be a glimpse of the playoffs. It lived up to be as such because both teams fought valiantly for the win. Ultimately, it was the offensive brilliance of Joel Embiid which came to the rescue.

In the post-game press conference, Joel Embiid talked about the positives that they can take away from this win. The 27-year-old also said that he does not feel that he did enough to guarantee the win for his side. He said, “We were supposed to foul. We didn’t get the chance to do so.”

He continued, “When you play against such a great three-point shooting team, you can’t make mistakes. There were a few which we made during the game. I left the corner a few times, that’s on me. So I gotta do a better job.”

It was an impressive defensive display from the Philly outfit which resulted in the victory. The Clippers could not adapt quickly enough to a new formation and succumb to the unrelenting pressure.

Joel Embiid was the star of the show as he finished with 36 points to his name. Moreover, he also had 14 rebounds and an assist during the match. Apart from him, Furkan Korkmaz contributed heavily towards the victory. He ended up scoring 18 points along with four assists and three rebounds.

The Philadelphia 76ers sit comfortably at the top of the Eastern Conference standings. At the moment, they are considered as one of the strongest title contenders and will look forward to performing well in the postseason.
