Since the arrival of Ja Morant, the Memphis Grizzlies have found a potential franchise player. Last season, Morant displayed his skills and won the NBA Rookie of the Year award.
This season, the 21-year-old has improved his game even further. However, due to numerous injury issues to his teammates, the Grizzlies are still struggling to compete for a playoff berth. Tonight, against the Denver Nuggets, they were delivered a heartbreaking defeat.
The Grizzlies lost by just one point as the game finished with a score of 103-102 in favor of Denver. Although Morant looked out of touch in the game, the rest of the team picked up the slack.
Currently, the Memphis Grizzlies have a record of 17-17, but there is still a lot of time left in the season. Can they put together a winning run in the second half of the season? Well, only time will tell.
Memphis Grizzlies head coach praises his team
A coach’s job is not only to train his player but also to uplift their morale. Furthermore, losing such a close game can have adverse effects on a team. But Taylor Jenkins knows how to uplift the morale of his team. In the post-game conference Jenkins said:
“I am super proud of the guys, I thought this was a heck of a basketball game. Two teams playing at a very high level. Especially going down double-digits there then regrouped and came back and did a lot of great things there at the end of the game.”

Winning and losing is part of playing basketball. But what’s more important is how the players and coach take that defeat. Learning from their mistakes will aid the team in their quest to clinch a playoff spot this season.
