It was a scintillating performance from the entire team as they kept the Dubs at bay. At first, Beal was not able to make good shots because he was double-teamed by the Warriors. However, he fought through and scored crucial points when it mattered the most.
Beal finished with 20 points and six assists to his name. Apart from him, Russell Westbrook continued on his hot streak and scored his 21st triple-double of the season. Rui Hachimura also contributed heavily towards the win as he was the top scorer of the tie. He finished with 22 points to his name.
“You have a bad game and things aren’t going your way, you always want something to uplift you. That was the moment for me,” Beal said. “It definitely boosted some confidence for me. I was just trying to make a play.”
The Washington Wizards are 13th in the Eastern Conference standings. At the moment, they are not in contention for the playoff spots. However, players like Westbrook and Beal will try to get to the highest spot at the end of the regular season.
