Another one in the record books for Stephen Curry. The point guard needed just 19 points against the Denver Nuggets to surpass the all-time great Wilt Chamberlain’s record of 17,783 points. A feat that even Curry himself had a hard time wrapping his head around.
Wilt Chamberlain is an all-time great, not just for the Warriors but also for the way he influenced the game in the 1960s. In his 12th season with the Golden State Warriors, Stephen Curry is another generational talent. With his shooting ability, he has shaped the modern-day NBA. Hence, when he decides to hang up his boots, he will have a historical significance to the game as well.
Chef Curry sat down with Rachel Nichols and spoke about being the Warriors’ all-time leading scorer. “It is kind of surreal to be honest,” said Curry. “12 years, how many guys I’ve played with, how many moments and memories that you have along the way so that for me was that kind of moment that I just appreciate and celebrate”.
He continued, “Hopefully I have a lot more in the tank to add to that scoring total”.
Will the Stephen Curry score record ever break?

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – APRIL 14: Stephen Curry #30 of the Golden State Warriors looks on during the game against the Oklahoma City Thunder
Very few would have believed anyone could break Wilt Chamberlain’s scoring record. However, at 33, Stephen Curry has some charming years ahead of him. While things have been tough for the Warriors after Klay Thompson was ruled out for the season. Curry has meant business, as usual, averaging 31 points so far and piling up the points.
Considering, The Golden Boy stays healthy, he has a good 4 to 5 years left in him. Hence, by the time he calls it a day, he might end his career with around 25,000 points. As difficult as it sounds in today’s game, the record being broken is a distant possibility. Looking up to the factor, Curry drew the curtain, answering with a smile exclaiming, “Records are meant to be broken but hopefully not this one”.
