The Los Angeles Lakers cruised to a comprehensive victory over the Brooklyn Nets on Saturday night. With a severely depleted squad, the Lakers still managed to find a way to win this game. All the players who have been influential for them in the past were sidelined. Stalwarts like Anthony Davis and LeBron James have been out for a long time. This has come as a significant blow for the defending champions. However, coach Frank Vogel and his men have not let the standard of their performances slip.

In the game against the Nets, Kyle Kuzma, “King James”, and AD were all present to cheer their team on for the win. Moreover, it all came good when the Lakers walked away with a victory over the championship contenders.

Andre Drummond was the star of the show in this game. He finished with 20 points and 11 rebounds to his name. Apart from him, Dennis Schroder also contributed heavily. The 27-year-old scored 19 points along with four assists during the course of the game.

In the post-game press conference, Nets coach Steve Nash admitted that they were second-best all through the game. He said, “I thought they were the aggressor, they were more physical, they hit first and we didn’t match their physicality and competitive fire, and that’s what you get. A team missing a bunch of guys and guys get an opportunity and their eyes light up and they come out and play harder than us, play more physical than us.”

The Los Angeles Lakers are fifth in the Western Conference standings. At the moment, they are well in contention for the playoff spots. With LeBron and AD set to return in the near future, the Lakers will be comfortable with the position they are in.
