“I was ready” Luguentz Dort expressed his joy after hitting the game winner

Luguentz Dort

In the 2020 postseason, Luguentz Dort established himself as an elite defender. He was phenomenal on the defensive end of the court vs the Rockets. But there was a glaring flaw in his game. Dort was unable to knock down three-pointers, which is a big part of the players’ game in the modern era.

As a result, he was left wide open by opposing defenders and they dared him to bury a three-pointer. Luguentz Dort struggled a lot, but fast forward to tonight when Dort hit the game-winning three-pointer for OKC.

Once again he was left open by the defender, but this time the result was in the favour of this young man. NBA fans went crazy over this sensational shot and sent him congratulations for doing so.

In the post-game interview, Dort was asked about his thoughts on being a hero tonight. He said:

It felt good. I kind of knew it was going to be over to help AL so I had to be ready to knock it down and I made it. … I mean it’s big, it’s big. You know all the time I spent in the gym, you know working on stuff like that. You know I just had to be ready. I missed one against the Lakers a couple of weeks ago and for this one I was ready.”

Dort has come a long way in the league since going undrafted in the 2019 NBA Draft. The Thunder gave him an opportunity and he accepted it with open arms. This season, the 21-year-old has played and started all 30 games for the game.
