“I Hate When Things Are Not Perfect” Knicks’ RJ Barrett Reacts on Being Labeled as ‘Perfectionist’

New York Knicks star RJ Barrett got perfectionist level from his teammates, as he always wants everything perfectly on the court and off the court as well.

After his excellent performance against Charlotte Hornets, Barrett appeared in an interview. During the interview, he was asked about his perfectionist level, and he proudly admitted it. “I hate when things are not you know perfect,” Barrett stated.

Further, Barrett always wants to play perfectly in the courts and he hates missing shorts. Referring to this, he said, “I will say that like I hate missing. If I do everything right and i miss the shot or I do everything right then I turn over the ball or something you know I hate I hate when uh hey when things aren’t perfect,” RJ conveyed about his perfectionist attitude.

Besides his perfectionist attitude helped to boost his mental stability. The combination of perfectionism and mental toughness helped Barrett to play spontaneously all four quarters.

Barrett has been phenomenal throughout the season and more or less carried the Knicks on his shoulders. And he continued his performance last night to swipe out the Hornets by 109-97. 

The 20-years-old showed an uncanny ability to remain unfazed in the first half and then in the third quarter. His mental toughness throughout was crazy. “My dad is but that has instilled that in me at a young age,” RJ said about his source of mental stability.

RJ scored team-high 24 points with one rebound last night. However, this score might not be his best performance, but it was good enough to bring them a win.

However, Barrett’s averages haven’t taken a surge in this season. But he improved in his shooting efficiency. RJ improved to 44.9 percent from 40.2 on field-goal attempts while knocking down 39.1 percent of his long-range attempts this season.
