‘He’s Gonna Bark at You’ Bradley Beal Reveals How Wizards Adjust With Russell Westbrook’s Attitude and Tough Mentality

Russell Westbrook scored his 16th triple-double of the season.

Russell Westbrook and the Washington Wizards have been on a tear lately. Initially, the team struggled with injuries to key players and looked hapless with superstar Bradley Beal’s efforts going in vain.

But the Wizards have turned it around in some style. Currently, in a four-game winning streak, the team has won six of its last ten games. Westbrook meanwhile is playing some of his best basketball in a Wizards’ uniform.

It certainly impressed teammate Bradley Beal, Westbrook’s recent form. Speaking to the media after their recent win, Beal spoke how Westbrook’s attitude and mentality has helped the team.

“We kind of embrace that. We embrace where we are, we embrace you know who we think we can be, our style of play, and then uh you know Russell’s just attitude towards the game, he’s gonna he’s gonna bark at you and yell at you if you’re not ready to go. So you can either step it up and hoop or hear from Russ,” remarked Beal.

After struggling with their form, the Wizards have found it at the perfect time possible. Given the new play-in tournament that is in place, Westbrook & Co. still have a real chance at making it to the playoffs.

WASHINGTON, DC – APRIL 16: Russell Westbrook #4 of the Washington Wizards dribbles the ball against the New Orleans Pelicans

With a 23-33 record, the Wizards have a tough task at hand. The Chicago Bulls and the Toronto Raptors are also competing for the 10th spot in the East, with very similar records. But unlike the Raptors and the Bulls, the Wizards have a rather unchanged roster with the majority of the players fit.

The Wizards will need both of their superstars Westbrook and Beal in prime form. If Washington can maintain their run of form, they will be a lock for the upcoming play-in tournament.
