James Harden is showing everyone that he is the king of playmaking in the NBA at the moment. Every game, be it on the road or at home, Harden is the constant game-changing factor in the star-studded Nets side. Critics and analysts are of the opinion that he is playing even better than the MVP season he had with the Rockets.
The 31-year-old put on a show last night as the Brooklyn Nets edged past the Minnesota Timberwolves in a 112-107 victory. With his 12th triple-double of the season, he equaled franchise legend Jason Kidd’s record of 12 triple-doubles in a single season.
The squad rotation in the Nets squad has been manic, to say the least. However, James Harden is one player who has shown up to every game with the same energy and has led the side from the front. Former player and TV analyst Brendan Haywood even touted him as a “walking triple-double”.

In the post-game analysis, Haywood was asked how do the Brooklyn Nets manage to win games even with the kind of squad rotation they have incorporated. He said, “It does not matter who they have in the squad because they have James Harden. And he has proven before that it can work in the regular season.”
He continued, “We have seen this in Houston where guys go down and guys get hurt. James Harden just says, ‘Jump on my shoulders, jump on my back and I will carry you to the promise land. He can score from any angle on the court. Moreover, he also has the incredible vision to lead the NBA in assists.”
James Harden and team beat Timberwolves
Harden finished with 38 points to his name. He also racked up 13 assists and 11 rebounds during the course of the game. Along with “The Beard”, Kyrie Irving also performed significantly well, scoring 27 points in his return after a three-game absence.
In the post-game press conference, Coach Steve Nash praised Harden. He said, “He’s our leader and he’s meant a lot to us. Another triple-double and you can’t take it for granted, but you tend to, a little bit because he’s able to pull these out of a hat almost every night,”
The Brooklyn Nets are second in the Western Conference standings. At the moment, they are well in contention for the playoff spots and will look forward to the postseason. With Kyrie finding his feet and KD to return soon, the Nets will feel confident about their championship hopes.
