“He cares about championships” and not MVP, Anthony Davis comments on LeBron James’ legacy

LeBron James got his 97th triple double

Since joining forces last season, the duo of LeBron James and Anthony Davis have been sensational. Last season, the two stars carried the Los Angeles Lakers on their back to an NBA Championship.

While LeBron ended up winning the Finals MVP, AD was sensational as well. This season, the dynamic duo will try to repeat the same level of success and win back-to-back NBA Championships.

However, due to an injury to Anthony Davis, the team has derailed a bit off course. Despite that LeBron James is playing amazingly and continuing his hot form. In fact, if James continues this output, he might very well win the fifth NBA MVP trophy of his career.

But once again, due to James being an MVP candidate, many believe he is focusing more on the individual accolades rather than helping the purple and gold win.

While the media is trying to downplay LBJ, his partner in crime, Davis, believes it’s not true. Davis said:

“I know that that man does not care about MVP awards. He cares about championships.”

No doubt winning the MVP trophy must be of great joy. However, nothing comes close to the feeling of being the champions of the league. That being said, the end goal for LeBron and co. must be to win the championship. If he can win the MVP trophy meanwhile it’s good. If he can’t then it’s not the end of the world either.
