Giannis Antetokounmpo Wants Everyone To “Sit Back Relax and Enjoy the Show” As the MVP Put On a Double-Double Show Against 76ers

Giannis Antetokounmpo scored a step back jump shot in overtime and celebrated it in style against the Philadelphia 76ers.

Giannis Antetokounmpo showed everyone why he won the MVP last season. He brought out the goods when his team needed him the most. The Milwaukee Bucks won 109-105 against the Philadelphia 76ers thanks to a sterling effort from the “Greek Freak”.

The Bucks trailed the game by as much as 19 points at the start of the third quarter. However, they rallied back and took the game to overtime. with Giannis scoring 10 points in this period.

His shooting spree included a step-back jump shot 10-feet from the rim. After making this shot, he sat down on the court, reveling at the audacity of his shot. After the game, he posted the photo on his Instagram with the caption, “Sit back relax and enjoy the show”

Giannis Antetokounmpo scored 10 of his 32 points in overtime. All throughout the game, he was harrowed by Ben Simmons which prevented him from scoring. However, that was not the case in overtime.

About the incident where he sat down on the court, Antetokounmpo said, “I haven’t seen that, that’s what I felt like I wanted to do at the time. I was just trying to have fun and enjoy the moment.” 

In the post-game press conference, Giannis was asked about what clicked for him in this game. He said, “I just tried to stay with it, play the right way, be aggressive, make the right play. That happened in overtime, but before that, in the fourth quarter I was making the right pass, I was finding teammates.”

He continued, “I found Donte (DiVincenzo), find Jrue (Holiday), find Brook (Lopez) for wide-open shots. There’s going to be times that I’ve got to be aggressive, I’ve got to go downhill when there’s no crowd. There’s going to be times where I’ve got to find my teammates. I choose to do both and I choose to make the right decisions at the right time, I’m trying to.”

The Milwaukee Bucks are third in the Eastern Conference standings. At the moment, they are in contention for the playoffs and have a five-game winning streak. With last year’s MVP award holder in their ranks, the Bucks will be confident about performing well this season.
