The talent and sheer tenacity of LeBron James on the basketball court is unquestionable. This was on show once again as the Los Angeles Lakers cruised to a win against the high-flying Charlotte Hornets. The sterling effort from ‘King James’ made Frank Vogel praise the 36-year-old in high regard.
Lakers writer Ryan Ward reports that Coach Frank Vogel hailed LeBron as the “best player to ever play the game” in the post-game press conference.

Although LeBron James missed a third straight triple-double for his side on Thursday night, he finished with 37 points to his name. He also racked up eight rebounds and six assists during the match. The 116-105 victory came thanks to a sterling effort from “The King” and his teammates.
LeBron James was at the helm of everything in this game. All the offensive plays went through him, and he was directing players when it was their turn to defend. Frank Vogel was especially pleased upon seeing the leadership skills of the 4 time MVP champ.
Frank Vogel waxes lyrical about LeBron James
In the post-game press conference, Vogel was asked to speak about having LeBron on his team. He said, “He has got great energy. He’s playing every night and sets a great tone for young players. In fact, Bron is setting a tone for the whole league.”
He continued, “He dominates the game. In my opinion, he is the MVP of the league. It is because of that mindset and what he does for our team. He just wins the game in so many different ways for us.”
Apart from LeBron, Dennis Schröder also had a great game. He scored 22 points and recorded 7 assists during the game. Even without Anthony Davis, the Lakers side is starting to look like the team to beat in the Western Conference.
LeBron James is also bolstering his case for the MVP title this season. With Joel Embiid out for another two weeks, analysts have said that this will be the perfect opportunity for Bron to climb up the ladder. With the kind of performances he has shown in the last three games, that is exactly what he is doing.
After this win, the Los Angeles Lakers leapfrog the Phoenix Suns to get into second place in the Western Conference standings. They are well in playoff contention at the moment. The position they find themselves in ought to give them the confidence to defend their title this time around.
