Draymond Green Rates Himself as One of the “Best Passers in NBA”

Warriors' Draymond Green

Golden State Warriors star, Draymond Green, finished his Sunday game against Sacramento Kings, averaging a career-high 8.9 assist per game, which put him in the fourth position in the 2021 NBA assist leaderboard.

In his last night’s game, Green racked up 13 assists. And with such a score, he jumped in fourth place on the leader board. However, Green was unaware of his current ranking. “No, it doesn’t shock me ’cause I think I’m one of the best passers in the NBA, you know?” Green said in his postgame video conference when a reporter informed he ranked fourth in the NBA in assists.

The other three players who ranked on top of Green are Russell Westbrook (10.9 per game), James Harden (10.9), and Trae Young (9.6). Nevertheless, DrayMagic feels good to have his name on the list with those players. “And saying that, to be up there with all point guards is incredible — and Joker, because he pass better than just about anybody who play the game of basketball, so to be up there with those guys, it means a lot,” Green expressed his feelings.

Green is having an excellent season so far. He has never averaged more than 7.5 assists per game in his nine years of NBA career. Nevertheless, with more than eight assists per game in the 2021 season, Green has the career-high assist point.

In the end, it’s all semantics. Green’s game is evolving as he gets later into his career, and his phenomenal performance is leading a lot of buckets for his team.
