Devin Booker Admires The Ability Of Chris Paul To Punish Guys Despite Being a Smaller Player

Chris Paul is undoubtedly one of the most influential veterans in the league at the moment. His leadership qualities are unparalleled. The impact of his presence can be felt with the change in fortunes of the Phoenix Suns. A side that was in and around the bottom of the standings last season, is now close to the top.

Star player Devin booker also feels that the presence of CP3 in the roster matters a lot. After the victory against the Washington Wizards on Saturday night, Booker spoke about Paul in the post-game press conference.

He said, “We both operate in similar areas on the court, including the area in and around the post.”

He continued, “Any of the advice that I can get from him is very valuable. Being a smaller player and still being able to punish guys is commendable. I know that, with my size, I can use it as an advantage. I can try and use some CP3 magic but I know that it is bigger than just one situation.”

The Phoenix Suns dominated the entire third quarter to widen the gap between them and the Wizards. Devin Booker was the pick of the players as he finished with 27 points to his name. He also racked up six rebounds and six assists during the course of the game.

Apart from him, Mikal Bridges and DeAndre Ayton contributed heavily towards the victory. Bridges finished with 15 points while Ayton ended the game with 14 points and 10 rebounds to his name.

In the post-game press conference, Booker talked about his performance on the court. He said, “We just had to lock in. I think we were low on juice in the first half and they weren’t stopping. They are going to keep coming at you so we wanted to put some type of statement in the game and lock in. We did that and ran away a little bit and held that lead the rest of the time.”

The Phoenix Suns are second in the Western Conference standings. At the moment, they are well in contention for the playoff spots and will look forwards to the postseason. Critics and analysts have started touting this side as the surprise championship contenders this season.
