Derrick Rose Boasts Of Team’s Capabilities, After Knicks’ Seven Consecutive Wins

Derrick Rose against the Charlotte Hornets

The New York Knicks are on a roll right now. They are currently one of the most in-form teams in the league, with seven wins in a row. Veteran guard Derrick Rose has played a vital role in this winning run.

Despite coming off of the bench, Rose has been one of the biggest offensive weapons for the team. In the last seven games he has played, Rose is averaging 15.7 points, 3.7 assists and 2.4 rebounds per game. The veteran guard spoke about the team’s impressive winning run in a recent press conference.

“I just saw a winning mentality where every team that plays against us, they know it’s going to be a hard game, a hard-fought game and you just got to come out and um bring your best.”

The 2011 MVP later revealed why he joined the Knicks in the first place. “Like I said, with me seeing that from afar, of course I wanted to be a part of, especially with Tibbs here, so I’m grateful to be here. It’s truly a blessing.”

The Knicks truly have been the most surprising team in the league. Despite making only a handful of moves in the off-season, the Knicks have defied expectations and have a winning record. While some of their players have undoubtedly been impressive, the biggest game changer for them has been the hiring of veteran coach Tom Thibodeau.

Under coach Tibbs, the Knicks have become a defensive juggernaut in the league and have the third best defensive rating. In the offensive end, the Knicks have relied on Julius Randle, who is having his best season of his career.

Although the Knicks do not have a superstar name on their side, the blend of hard-working young players like RJ Barrett along with veterans like Derrick Rose has worked wonders for the team. Can the Knicks maintain this form and make it to the playoffs for the first time in seven years?
