Dennis Schroder has turned things around for the LA Lakers after a dismal start to the season. Talks about his trade have been doing the rounds for quite a while now. However, the 27-year-old has been performing at a consistently high level each game with Lebron James absent.
With Anthony Davis and LBJ out with respective injuries, Schroder has taken charge and is directing team movement during games. The German international also has a knack for making difficult shots in clutch situations which is incredibly helpful for the LA outfit.
Schroder had a chat with Lakers insider Harrison Faigen. In that conversation, he was asked to talk about all the great point guards he has played with. He took the names of Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Chris Paul among others. Moreover, he also lauded LeBron James as “the best to ever play this game”.

LeBron James headed towards the MVP this season?
According to coach Frank Vogel and several other teammates like Kyle Kuzma, LeBron James should have more than four MVP awards by this time in his career. However, this season might be LeBron’s chance to win the MVP award once again.
LeBron James has been averaging 25.4 points per game this season. Apart from that, he has also managed to rack up at least seven assists in every game he has played. As far as a positive impact on a team is concerned, there is no one better than “King James” in the league.

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA – FEBRUARY 20: LeBron James #23 of the Los Angeles Lakers shoots a layup
However, tragedy struck when LeBron James landed awkwardly on his ankle after a layup. After the game, the official page of the Los Angeles Lakers tweeted that he had endured a high ankle sprain. This injury will rule him out tentatively for a month. Players like James Harden and Giannis Antetokounmpo will take this as an opportunity to climb above him in the KIA MVP Ladder.
The Los Angeles Lakers are fourth in the Western Conference standings. At the moment, they are in contention for the playoff spots with the Denver Nuggets breathing down their neck. With AD and LeBron set to return within a month, Vogel and his men will be pretty optimistic about their title chances.
