There is no denying the fact that Danny Green is one of the top small forwards in the league. He has played for a few teams in his illustrious career, but none has been more impactful than this season with the Philadelphia 76ers.
Reports have surfaced that Green was about to be traded by the 76ers at the trade deadline. However, a few deals fell through and the 33-year-old ended up staying. This escape from getting traded might have spurred him on as he put on a show in the very next game.
This performance of his garnered praise from the franchise president himself. In fact, Daryl Morey, the Philadelphia 76ers president said, “Danny Green is the most professional & consistent star player in the NBA”.

Daryl Morey waxes lyrical about Danny Green
Morey said that Danny Green always “delivers in crunch time” and gives them a chance “to win every game”. Judging by his recent performances, Green has made it a habit to put in some clutch performances both in offense and defense.
The 33-year-old had a stellar game against the LA Lakers last night. He was the top scorer in the game as he finished with 28 points. He also racked up three rebounds to his name. This meant that the Lakers were handed their fourth straight loss.
In the post-game press conference, Green was asked to speak about how it felt to notch up a great performance against his former team. He said, “Got a chance to see some of my brothers and compete against them. Also, there’s nothing better to come out with a win,”
With Joel Embiid out with injury, the responsibility fell on Green’s shoulders. He came good in the perfect tie as he sunk eight of his 12 attempts from downtown. It is a rarity for a small forward to shoot as many threes in a single game.
The Philadelphia 76ers maintain their lead at the top of the Eastern Conference with this win. Moreover, They grabbed their fourth straight win and now will be looking forward to the playoffs.
