“Calm Before the Storm” Damian Lillard Urges to Remain Calm Even After Trail Blazers’ 4 Game Winning Streak

Damian Lillard

Damian Lillard is undoubtedly one of the finest players the NBA offers now. He has an uncanny ability to influence the course of the game in the most opportune situations. However, one of the greatest skills that the 30-year-old possesses is the drive and sheer tenacity to give it his all in every game.

That is exactly what Lillard has done with the Portland Trail Blazers this season. He has inspired others like Robert Covington and Melo to perform in every game. This way, the Blazers have emerged as a well-functioning team in a league that is increasingly leaning towards individual brilliance.

Lillard propelled his side to another victory over the Detroit Pistons on Wednesday night. After the game, he posted a photo of himself with the caption, “Calm before the storm and then the thunder come… I take a n**** food when the hunger come… and it go straight to my stomach like a cummerbund. 4-0 trip. Great trip fellas! Let’s keep goin”

Damian Lillard and the Blazers finish strong against the Pistons

The clock struck “Dame Time” at the Little Caesars on Wednesday as Lillard looked to be on fire. He finished the game with 33 points to his name. In fact, he also racked up 10 assists for his side during this match.

Apart from him, CJ McCollum and Carmelo Anthony also contributed heavily in a combined effort from the Blazers. McCollum scored 24 points while Melo finished with 16 to his name.

Damian Lillard is increasingly becoming the favorite for the MVP award this season. His performances have been consistently sublime for a while now and he is showing no signs of relent or fatigue. With the stalwarts like LeBron James and Joel Embiid out of the picture, this will the golden chance for Dame to increase the gap.

Lillard is averaging 29.8 points per game, which is the second-highest in the entirety of the league. He is also making 7.8 assists on an average this season.

The Portland Trail Blazers are currently sixth in the Western Conference standings. At the moment, they are in contention for the playoff spots with the Dallas Mavericks breathing down their necks. However, they have a four-game winning streak so they will look forward to building on that.
