The Washington Wizards rallied past the New Orleans Pelicans in overtime for an incredible victory on Friday night. It was a match filled with numerous interesting moments that made it one of the most watchable season games. However, it was the brilliance of Russell Westbrook that separated the two sides.

Both the teams wanted to win the game in order to resurrect their dismal season. The Washington Wizards stitched together an incredible fightback in overtime to snub the threat of Zion Williamson and score points on the other end of the court.

In the post-game press conference, Westbrook was elated about the victory. He talked about the positives the team can take away from this and how they can incorporate them in future games. He said, “I think this game was amazing. A lot of times we did not convert. However, we got so many stops down the stretch which was big for the side.”

He continued, “It was big for the growth of the team. I think it just shows you that we can defend over the course of the season if we put our minds together. In the game tonight we did a good job at defending. At this time of the year, you have to make sure that you’re connected as a team. Regardless of what happens in the first half of the season.”

Russell Westbrook and Beal carry their team to an edgy victory

It was a defensive masterclass from the Wizards in overtime as they locked out their opposition. Zion Williamson was left stranded many times as his shots were blocked at the rim.
