Anthony Davis Believes More Game Time Will Help Him Get His “Legs Back”

Anthony Davis

The return of Anthony Davis to the court after spending two months on the sidelines has been far from triumphant. In the two games, he has featured against the Dallas Mavericks, the Lakers have lost by a comprehensive margin.

The losses cannot be blamed entirely on the presence of Davis. There were multiple defensive frailties on display and the team looked hapless when it came to the offensive side of things.

In the post-game press conference, Davis talked about how he plans on getting into the flow of things. He said, “I think I’m getting to the shots. However, they are just falling short. It is just a legs thing. Getting your legs back and playing the game of basketball comes with playing continuously.”

He further continued, “If I get more minutes, I’ll surely get my game legs back. I liked all the shots I took in this game. The good thing is that all the shots felt good coming out of my hand. Like I said, they all were short, and that comes from the legs. That is something that is easily fixable with some more minutes.”

In the game against the Mavs, it felt as if Davis was trying to shake off the last vestiges of his injury. However, the on-court leadership he is known for is not lost, and that will certainly help the Lakers in their upcoming games.
