Andre Drummond Eager for Teammates LeBron James and Anthony Davis’ Return, Voices “Team Did a Wonderful Job” Despite Loss Against Jazz

Andre Drummond and the Los Angeles Lakers slumped to a disheartening loss against the Utah Jazz on Monday night. After winning the return fixture two days ago, this loss came as a shock to many Lakers fans who expected their team to get back to winning ways.

The severely under-manned Lakers side fought valiantly until the buzzer. However, the high flying Jazz side vanquished them avenging their loss. Even after the game, coach Frank Vogel admitted that they sorely missed LeBron and AD in this game.

The on-court leadership was evidently absent when the Lakers went into offense. The efforts of Drummond and Dennis Schroder were not enough to save their side from a defeat. In the post-game press conference, Andre Drummond talked about how the team performed in this game. The 27-year-old also spoke about how he wants to play with LeBron and AD when they return.

He said, “Honestly I’m just worried about the guys that are playing in the team right now. Obviously, I’m looking forward to playing with those guys when they come back healthy. We don’t have that control right now with the guys that step on the floor. However, they are doing a hell of a job right now of holding the fort.”

He continued, “Despite the game tonight, we are doing a hell of a job in holding the fort and playing well together.”

For the Lakers, Talen Horton-Tucker was the top scorer in this game as he came off the bench and finished with 17 points. Moreover, he also racked up four rebounds and two assists during the course of the game.

LOS ANGELES, CA – APRIL 19: Andre Drummond #2 of the Los Angeles Lakers shoots the ball during the game against the Utah Jazz

For the Jazz, it was the usual where every player contributed towards the victory. It has been the signature of this NBA-leading side. They maneuver the ball really well amongst themselves and every player on the court is ready to take the shot.

The Los Angeles Lakers are fifth in the Western Conference standings. At the moment, they look on course for the playoff spots. However, coach Vogel and his men will look forward to winning the remaining games in the regular season.
