Muhammed Lawal leaves the retreat and returns at Bellator 233

Muhammed Lawal, former Strikeforce Semi-Complete champion, will leave the retreat to compete in what will be his last fight as a mixed martial artist.

This was confirmed by officials of the promotion to ESPN.

Lawal, better known among the MMA community as ‘King Mo’, hung his gloves after losing for the third time in a row by knockout.

His last fight had been for the Rizin Semi-Complete Championship at Rizin 15 against Jiri Procházka on April 21 of this year.

Previously the 38-year-old fighter had been knocked out by Ryan Bader and Liam McGeary in Bellator 199 and Bellator 213, respectively.

In Bellator 233, Mahal will measure the agreed weight of 195 pounds to debutant Andrew Kapel ( 15-4 ), which will officially be his last race as a professional.

The Bellator 233 will take place on November 8 from the WinStar World Casino and Resort in Thackerville, Oklahoma.
